To those who don't know Mike and Steph met at a lifting event called the V.O.W. (Veterans Outreach Workout). This is where they caught each others eye, Mike in his jorts and Steph deadlifting what she thought was 385# because plate math is hard. He kept offering her beers even though she was weeks out from nationals and she roasted him over his beer choice. DM's turned into texts and texts to dates.

In March Mike and Steph were living in PA and NJ respectively only seeing each other on the weekends. Then that fateful day of March 13 2020 arrived where COVID would shut the world down for two weeks.... it was only supposed to be two weeks. Steph spent the next 6 months ferrying between NJ and PA as the plan to actually move in began to take shape.

In September a few short days before their 4 year anniversary Mike got down on one knee proposing to Steph on the lake at Notre Dame. They were there see Notre Dame football take on Central Michigan and they left South Bend, IN with more than just a win and no voice.
