Melissa knew one of Eric's friends because they were neighbors. Eric asked Melissa out on their first date on Valentine's Day in 2008. The two went to Buffalo Wild Wings, because Melissa really wanted to go. It still is one of her places! After that date, Melissa and Eric dated all through high school. After high school, they ended up going to separate colleges after. Eric played football at Olivet College and Melissa went to Ferris State University. After that first year, Eric no longer wanted to play football, and he ended up transferring to Ferris State University. Melissa graduated and started work in Kalamazoo, MI and Eric graduated and started work in Farmington Hills, MI. After three years of distance, Melissa and Eric decided to move to Charleston, SC together! The rest is history!
