The first time they met was at a party at Hannan's apartment for his roommate Matt's 21st birthday. They all spent the night hanging out, drinking, and having a good time. It wasn't until several months later, after Leah was subleasing from Hannan's other roommate David, that they really started talking and eventually started dating.

Hannan wanted to surprise Leah, which if you know Leah, means she was anxious about it already! Hannan planned it all to a T. Hannan brought Leah flowers when he came to pick her up. He took Leah to High Cliff State Park and packed a lunch of shrimp pasta salad, which Leah loved! After dinner they walked through the forest and were able to watch a few deer in the woods. It was a lovely day!
