Morehead City, Historical Beaufort Waterfront, and Atlantic Beach are all approximately 15 to 20 minutes from each other. Making it easy to take some time and explore, which we encourage you to do if time permits! Below are a few recommendations for the area.

Historic Beaufort, North Carolina

Front Street, Beaufort, NC

Beaufort, North Carolina is very walkable, particularly its downtown area. The compact downtown, with its charming historic buildings and waterfront views, is best explored on foot. Visitors can easily stroll along Front Street, and then explore the streets like Ann and Broad, which are lined with historic homes and businesses.

Memorial Park Beach Access

201 Salter Path Road, Pine Knoll Shores, NC 28512

This is our favorite beach access in the area. Only a short drive from the Morehead City waterfront providing a quiet, relaxing, beach experience.

Fort Macon State Park

2303 East Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512

Fort Macon is famous for its well-preserved Civil War-era fort and its role as a state park. It's a popular destination for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and families seeking outdoor recreation. The fort itself, a five-sided structure with a complex network of casemates, tunnels, and gun positions, offers a glimpse into 19th-century military architecture.

Fishtowne Brew House

133 B Turner Street, Beaufort, NC 28516

Oceanana Pier & Pier House Restaurant

700 East Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512

If you're looking for a beachfront cocktail and a stroll down the last standing pier in Carteret County, this is the spot. Make sure to order their painkiller from the bar!
