Hannah and Jack met in 2023 thanks to a coworker of Hannah’s at work who also happened to be married to Jack’s boss. Jack was new to Fort Wayne, so she suggested Hannah show him around. Hannah didn’t expect much until Jack asked her out. Their first date was at a local bar, and what started as a casual night quickly turned into hours of easy conversation both with each other and with just about everyone else there. Jack’s outgoing energy meant he talked to everyone, and Hannah wasn’t totally sure what to think at first. They clicked right away, with personalities that balanced each other perfectly, and by the end of the night, it was clear this was something worth holding onto! About six months into dating, Jack followed his mentor to Los Angeles. The next eight months were spent long distance, filled with FaceTime calls, countdowns to visits, and Hannah flying to California whenever school breaks allowed. Two days after the school year ended, Hannah said goodbye to her kindergarteners, family, and friends, packed up her car and drove west to start the next chapter side by side. In July 2025, during a week back home for a golf tournament, Jack proposed. After a fun night at the tournament gala, Hannah couldn’t believe they were really getting up early for church that Sunday morning, but there they were. A few days earlier, she had even complimented the flowers at Jack’s mom’s house, completely unaware they were actually for the engagement party they would soon attend. What Hannah didn’t know was that Jack had been in the kitchen that Sunday morning practicing getting down on one knee in between making Hannah her morning coffee (he knows her too well). Jack was "shakin' in his boots" all throughout church and being extra affectionate, holding her hand a little tighter than usual, which left her thinking, "What is going on… Is he okay?" When they pulled up to a cute restaurant, Hannah still assumed brunch was the plan, but little did she know the restaurant wasn’t even open that day. Instead, there Jack was, waiting in the courtyard where he would soon propose! Hannah said “yes” of course, and the celebration continued afterward with family and friends. The day ended exactly how it should surrounded by faith, family, and so much love! Now Hannah and Jack live in California, balancing work, wedding planning, travel, and everyday life, grateful for the journey that brought them together and excited for everything still ahead!
