Rebecca moved to Nashville to attend law school at Belmont after spending four years in Tuscaloosa (Roll Tide). Jack moved back to his home town after graduating from Tulane in New Orleans (Roll Wave), also to attend Belmont College of Law. A few days before orientation, the first year law students met at Old Glory to get to know their classmates over cocktails. This gathering is where Jack and Rebecca met. When the crowd died down a bit, Rebecca suggested the group keep the fun going, so a few of them went to a couple of bars in Midtown, where Jack and Rebecca got to talking. Before everyone went their separate ways, Rebecca grabbed Jack's phone and added her number, telling him, "we're gonna be friends."
The first spring break of law school, a few classmates headed down to Colin's (groomsman) lake house for a few days. On that trip, Jack and Rebecca were inseparable, spending hours on the back porch talking and laughing. A few weeks later, they attended Barristers Ball together and Jack surprised Rebecca with flowers. Afterwards, they danced the night away on Broadway with friends, and Jack revealed his feelings on the rooftop of Jason Aldean's (a place he now jokingly calls their "spot"). The two spent summer and fall flirting and studying, balancing internships and a full course load. Finally, after finishing an exam they'd studied for together, Rebecca told Jack that she had feelings for him too wanted to be together. The rest is history!
Fast forward four years to December 2023. Jack told Rebecca they had to go to his firm's holiday party, but promised to take her out to dinner to make an evening of it. He made reservations at Moto, a restaurant where they'd celebrated many milestones together over the years. After dinner, they hopped in an Uber and Rebecca noticed that Josh Turner was playing (a concert Jack had surprised her with tickets to in 2021 after hearing her try [and fail] to win them on the radio). The driver stopped across from the pedestrian bridge and Jack asked Rebecca to take a walk with him. In front of the Nashville skyline, Jack got down on one knee and asked Rebecca to marry him. She responded, "OBVIOUSLY, YES!" Jack revealed that the office party was a ruse, but that another party was waiting for them. They headed to the Grant house, where Rebecca was surprised with all of their friends and family, and an unforgettable celebration orchestrated by Jack and his family.
