Location of our second date and one of our favorite brunch spots. We also ate here the night of our engagement. Lovely views of the lake at Shelby Farms!
Shelby Farms Park
This the largest urban park in the US! We've had many a conversation on the benches overlooking the lake, including a very special one about us getting married (our engagement)! A great place to walk around, rent a bike or just sit in the sun.
Memphis Zoo
Considered one of the best zoos in the US!
Memphis Botanic Garden
A great place to walk around and rest. We had our second date here.
Las Delicias
One of the best and most affordable Mexican restaurants in town. They have the best tortilla chips around!
Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken
This is the best fried chicken I've ever had and a Memphis classic--perfectly crisp with a little bit of spice.
Brother Juniper's
The best breakfast in all of Memphis! Depending on when you go, there may be a bit of a wait, but trust us, it's worth the wait!
Aldo's Pizza Pies
Our favorite pizza in town with a great rooftop patio!
Central BBQ
The best place for BBQ nachos and good taste of famous Memphis BBQ.
Muddy's Bake Shop & Coffee
The second location of a Memphis favorite! Really good coffee, cupcakes, pie, and scones. Everything is good, but I highly recommend the cupcakes or a ginger scone dipped in coffee. The other location is in East Memphis off of Sanderlin.
La Michoacana
Authentic Mexican paletas! They have dozens of flavors of paletas (popsicles) and also serve other kinds of sweet treats. My personal favorites are the avocado (dipped in chocolate), cookies in cream, and mango chili.
WISEACRE Brewing Co.
One of our favorite breweries. We recommend the Adjective Animal Double IPA or the Gotta Get Up To Get Down Coffee Milk Stout. Several of Wiseacre's brews are served around town also.
Hog & Hominy
This has quickly become our favorite restaurant! A sharing-style, part Italian, part southern eatery with delicious wood fired pizzas and appetizers. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
Porcellino’s Craft Butcher
Although labeled as a butcher, Porcellino's is also a lovely little cafe with the best ham & cheese croissant you couldn't even begin to imagine. You'll feel like you're in a quaint French cafe.
Cafe Eclectic Highland
A great breakfast, brunch, lunch, and coffee place. They serve Illy coffee with free refills. I recommend the black bean wrap with a chai tea latte.
Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid
Known as the largest Bass Pro Shop in the US. It's part outdoors store, museum, and "zoo", complete with live alligators, a restaurant, bowling alley, hotel, plenty of taxidermy animals, and a 360 overlook of downtown Memphis & over into AR.
