Fall is in the Air

10.4.20 (Halloween Season)

As all love stories of 2020 begin, we met outside. For us, it was a park hang at Zilker. Connor initiated the conversation with what Hannah could only assume was a lie: his sister was living in Chattanooga. Hannah would only later realize that Connor wasn't that creative, and that his statement was true.. none the less, the two hit it off during the most wonderful time of the year: Fall. Over the next few weeks they ended up at a handful of other similar gatherings playing spikeball, carving pumpkins, seeing music and spending time on the lake. They bonded over adventuring, music, reading, social gatherings, staying active and enjoying each other's company. It was not long before they were actually dating, although it may have been a while before they acknowledged it. The following two years flew by but it only took a small part of that for Connor to know he had found the one (people say Hannah actually knew even faster) and here we are today, set to get married!

Rocks on the Ground, Rocks in the Pocket

7.02.23

Connor and Hannah planned a trip for the 4th of July to Under Canvas in South Dakota. Hannah didn't know but Connor was planning to propose. What Connor didn't know is that engagement rings take time to be made. He was supposed to get the ring "towards the end of June" which, come to find out, meant June 30th after noon. He picked up the ring and they scrambled to the airport (which is standard, so raised no suspicions). They began the trip hiking through Badlands National Park, ring in tow. Day two began with fly fishing, and ring moved to pocket. They then went hiking, and while Connor had let Hannah's parents know, he wanted to be sure her sisters knew he was about to propose. He spent the entire hike trying to get a text to her sisters to send. At the top of a mountain (hill?), it finally did, and he was ready to go. As they approached a creek, talking about life, Connor got down on one knee and asked Hannah to spend the rest of hers with him. He took her right hand, and then her other, and put the ring on her finger as tears welled in her eyes. She then said "most likely, but I'll definitely take the ring". They are extremely excited to spend the rest of their lives together and to have those they love along on the journey with them.
