We met in high school; He was 15 and I was 14. We were smitten but it wasn't quite our time. Fast forward 10 years of life, lessons and learning ... an adorably awkward lunch date at Olive Garden led us to realize we were just as smitten as we had always been. We are blessed that God's plan is perfect in its timing and that He saw fit to bring us back to one another at the perfect moment.
After a difficult start to our 2018, Ben planned a weekend trip to his family's home in Glade Valley, North Carolina. We both love this house and it was a perfect getaway, made even more sweet by the snow that began to fall on Saturday, March 24, 2018. It was in the middle of this snowfall, after a morning of building snowmen and trying our hand at skiing, that Ben held me close and told me how much he loved me before lowering to one knee and asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. I said yes with all of my heart and we are both looking forward to every day of the rest of our lives.
We will be married on May 4, 2019 at Ben's home church, Beston United Methodist, in La Grange, North Carolina. We are beyond excited to be surrounded by family and friends as we become husband and wife. We are also excited to continue the celebration at Lanetree Country Club in Goldsboro, North Carolina following our ceremony.
