Will and Hannah met on Tinder (as much as they don’t like to admit). Hannah had recently adjusted her age criteria on the app from (25-29) to (25-35) which she did for just a day because she decided 35 was “way too old.” Lucky for Will (then 35), he already matched with Hannah (then 25) so he still had a shot. After reading Hannah’s bio Will found out she loved pumpkin patches and all things fall. With it being late October, Will slid into Hannah’s DMs asking her on a date to the pumpkin patch. When Hannah finally got around to responding, Will was out of town. Hannah gave him her number and a few days later got a message from Will. In the message, Will included a picture of him smiling with a news paper, captioned “hi it’s Will from Tinder” which made Hannah chuckle because she thought, “who still reads the news paper?” She later discovered that Will can’t pass up a free newspaper-catalog stand at the local grocery store. 😂 On October 30th 2021, Hannah unexpectedly got off work early for the weekend. She was scheduled to be on-call until Sunday morning. Will had asked her to the pumpkin patch again and Hannah declined saying she had to work. She messaged him back later that night asking if he had any plans and to her surprise he didn’t. Hannah informed her mom that she would be going on a date with a guy she didn’t know and if you know Suzie, you know she was not very happy about this. She was worried. In retrospect Hannah now thinks that probably wasn’t the greatest idea. Fortunately for Hannah, when Will pulled up he wasn’t the Tinder Swindler or a serial killer. Will took Hannah to The Republic on Grand in downtown Des Moines. When the charcuterie board arrived covered in nuts the couple discovered their first big thing in common. They are both fatally allergic to tree nuts. They also found out that Will attended KU the same time Hannah’s cousin Jamie played basketball there. After talking all night long, they also found out that Will’s cousin lived in Creston (Hannah’s home town) and his cousin was Hannah’s grandma’s physical therapist at the time. Small world. To top it all off, they also discovered they both have the same rare blood type. Who knows why they were talking about their blood types, but hey, I guess when you talk all night you cover all the bases. Hannah called her mom after their date and told her that she met “the nicest guy.” After only 3 weeks of dating Hannah invited Will on her family vacation to Colorado where he asked Hannah to be his girlfriend at a cool wine shop in Breckenridge, CO. Asher and Will instantly connected. Will being a single guy living alone during Covid and having never changed a diaper in his life, fell into his new role as “dada” so naturally. In July of 2022, they got engaged in New York. Will got down on one knee in Central Park and asked to spend forever with Hannah and Asher. They welcomed their daughter Jovie that December. They are so excited to share their wedding day with their two beautiful kiddos. The countdown to 8-24-24 is on!!
