Seated a few rows behind her, he noticed the way Hannah worshiped, with a humility and sincerity. He found himself thinking he had never seen someone worship with such genuine enthusiasm. From that moment on, he knew he wanted to meet her. Over the next few weeks, William saw her around church but never quite found the right opportunity to introduce himself. One evening, they even ended up sitting just one seat apart, though a friend unknowingly took the seat between them before William could say hello. Hannah does not remember that night, but William certainly does. He left feeling like he had missed his chance. A few weeks later, William was invited to a lake house gathering with friends. When he arrived, he only knew about half the people there, so he began introducing himself to others. Then, one more group walked in, and there was Hannah. He could not help but feel that this was providential. Immediately, he introduced himself, and they spent the day talking, laughing, and getting to know one another even though she was completely oblivious to William’s flirting. Although she left before he worked up the courage to ask her out, he was thankful to have finally met her. The following week at young adults, William saw her again. Despite a busy and chaotic day, he remembers feeling a surprising sense of ease simply being able to talk with her. After a couple more weeks of brief conversations, he finally manned up. As William was helping the production team prep for Jess Ray, one of Hannah's favorite artists, he found a few minutes to talk with her. In a moment of nervous honesty, he said something along the lines of, “I have no idea if you’re single,” to which Hannah smiled and replied, “I am.” He then asked her to coffee. As it turns out, Hannah does not drink coffee, so instead they met for ice cream at Bruster’s on August 3, 2025. That date turned into a conversation that lasted nearly two hours. They spoke openly and honestly, and William was struck by Hannah’s grace and kindness, especially as they shared parts of their stories. The days that followed only confirmed what William had begun to feel. Before their first official date, Hannah reached out and asked if he wanted to go for a walk. He gladly rearranged his evening, and they spent that time talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Then, on August 13, they had their first formal date.
