Question

What is Keeneland? How can I purchase tickets?

Answer

Keeneland is a historic horse racing track in Lexington, Kentucky, and a big part of the city’s culture. During the spring, it hosts several weeks of live Thoroughbred racing, and the grounds are open for guests to enjoy throughout the day. Tickets will be purchased for guests in advance and provided upon arrival--just be sure to RSVP to the event by February 15th to have your ticket included.

I’ve never been to Lexington before. Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in or near downtown Lexington so you’re close to wedding weekend events and shuttle pickup spots. Because it is Keeneland’s closing weekend, hotel prices may be higher than usual, even with our room block discount. If you’re traveling with a group, Airbnbs/VRBOs can be a great option to split costs. Wherever you stay, we recommend booking early.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM, and we kindly ask that guests arrive 20-30 minutes early. Shuttles will depart from the 21c Hotel at 4:30pm and 5:00pm.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Attire will vary throughout the weekend depending on the event! Keeneland: Spring dresses and florals for women; sport coats or blazers with dress shirts for men. Welcome Party: Spring cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or midi dresses for women; jackets or blazers with slacks for men. Ceremony & Reception: Formal attire (floor-length dresses or gowns) for women; dark suits or dressy jackets with a tie or bow tie for men.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Shuttle transportation to Keeneland on Friday will depart from the 21c Hotel. Please see information in text messages for departure times. On Saturday, shuttle #1 to the Apiary will depart from the 21c Hotel at 4:30pm, and shuttle #2 will depart at 5:00pm. The Welcome Party is downtown, so it’s an easy walk for anyone staying nearby. If you’re farther out, we recommend rideshare options like Uber. Please note that guests will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the airport. The drive from the Blue Grass Airport (LEX) to downtown Lexington is just under 20 minutes, and the drive from Louisville (SDF) or Cincinnati (CVG) airports is just under 1.5 hours.
