When and where is the wedding?

We’re getting married at Walker Homestead in Iowa City, Iowa—and celebrating there all night long! The ceremony and reception will both take place on site, so once you arrive, you can relax and enjoy the party.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

It’s an indoor and outdoor celebration from start to finish! We fell in love with Walker Homestead’s beautiful setting and can’t wait to celebrate surrounded by the gorgeous rolling hills of Iowa.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’re going for dressy / formal vibes and would love to see everyone dressed up! Since the ceremony will be on grass, we recommend footwear that’s lawn-friendly—think block heels, wedges, flats, or dressy sandals. Save the stilettos for another night 😉

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It’s August in Iowa, so expect warm summer weather. Light, breathable fabrics are your friend! We’ll celebrate rain or shine, so check the forecast and come ready to have fun no matter what.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Plan to arrive 15–20 minutes before the ceremony so you can grab a seat, say hello, and soak in the moment before things begin.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’d love to celebrate with everyone we can! Plus ones are by invitation only and will be clearly noted on your invitation if included. Thanks so much for understanding.

As much as we adore your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration, unless otherwise noted on your invitation.

How do I RSVP?

Answer

RSVPs are being handled by our amazing wedding planners. Please be sure to respond by Friday, July 24th, so we can finalize all the fun details.

Will food and drinks be provided?

Answer

Absolutely! Dinner and drinks will be flowing, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy them. If you shared any dietary needs when you RSVP, we’ve got you covered.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! On-site parking is available, and guests are welcome to leave their vehicles overnight if needed—please just pick them up the next day.

Is transportation provided?

Answer

Yes! A shuttle will run between the Hilton Garden Inn in Iowa City and Walker Homestead. See the travel section for more details. We highly recommend taking advantage of the shuttle so you can relax and enjoy the evening worry-free.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras tucked away during the ceremony and be fully present with us. Our photographers will capture everything—and we promise to share the love later!
