How They Met

Hannah and Tyler’s paths could have crossed multiple times throughout their lives, but the timing was never right. They were both born and raised on the eastside of Seattle, attending neighboring high schools. They studied at Washington State University and even joined Greek chapters directly next door to one another which shared a parking lot (Tyler was a Theta Chi, Hannah an Alpha Gamma Delta). They developed mutual friendships, chose the same major, and walked at the same graduation ceremony in 2017, having spent four years on The Palouse close in proximity but far from familiar with one another. After graduation, Hannah started her career as an Account Executive at a Seattle tech start-up. Hannah referred Tyler’s friend for a role at her company, who joined the team and referred Tyler a few months later after he decided he no longer wanted to pursue law school. Although Tyler and Hannah knew of each other in college, this is where their story began and an instant connection was made: at work. Shortly after Tyler joined the team, Hannah says she will always have the vivid memory thinking to herself, “shoot! I think I might like this guy.” However, Hannah was adamant that she would not date a coworker, which Tyler honored while remaining respectfully persistent, as he was confident that they were meant for each other. In July of 2018, Tyler accepted a job at a new company and knew exactly where to go after completing his last day: Hannah’s house with three-dozen roses to ask her to be his girlfriend. Since then, they’ve loved living life together - eventually moving into a condo and enjoying city living in South Lake Union. They continued to grow even more inseparable, developing a shared passion for wine and travel, cooking together and trying new restaurants, and spending countless hours with friends and family who they love. They each changed jobs, becoming closer than ever when they were forced into being ‘coworkers’ again in their 800sq ft condo during the pandemic, and later, purchased their first home in November 2021.

The Proposal

At this point, Tyler knew it was time to take the next step. On January 8, 2022, he pulled off the most incredible, meticulously planned proposal at The Edgewater Hotel that left Hannah completely and utterly surprised. Tyler rented out the hotel ballroom, hired decorators, and snuck in a photographer to capture the moment. Thinking of every detail, He planned a lunch with their immediate families and a getaway to Salish Lodge for the two of them, so they could soak in the moment and cherish it together. It was everything they both had ever hoped for.

Forever To Go

Hannah and Tyler’s love continues to strengthen and evolve every day through life’s ups and downs, and they are so excited for life they are building together. They are honored to celebrate their love and lives together in Cabo San Lucas (a place that is very special to the couple) with the people who have made positive impacts in their lives and mean the most to them.
