How We Met

His version... I remember it like it was yesterday, and there may have been alcohol involved, so in college language that clearly means love! Even though Hannah can't recall, she has conceded that this indeed the first official time we met. I got hurt on Friday in a home series, so I didn't go on the road with the team that weekend. A few other teammates that were out of the lineup that night talked me into going out for a few beers. We went to meet up with one our teammates girlfriends (Dani Payment), who Hannah was living with at the time. I walked in the front door and saw her. I was like WOAH! For two reasons...one being, wow, she is hot! And the second was a realization 20 seconds after I started talking to her - there was a huge F-U on her forehead. So, I listened...for the time being. When my teammates got back, I asked about her, and the rest was history! Her version... So, I do not actually remember the first time we met...and for me there wasn't any alcohol blame. The backstory here is that as I embarked on my NMU journey, my older and wiser brother gave me one piece of advice - "stay away from the hockey team!" ...and I made it a whole four months! I was residing on Kelly and Dani's couch at the time. Sometime in the Fall of 2008 there was this hockey player that I had met in passing, and apparently I caught his eye. In sticking to big bro's advice, I was initially not interested in what they had to say about this suitor they thought I should meet. However, as they described, this wasn't your typical hockey player - "Tim doesn't talk to girls". The fact that he said anything about a girl meant they had to pounce at their chance. Flash forward to the Hockey Christmas Party that year, and after a bit of convincing, two Elves and a Christmas Present showed up. Now, from here on out there may have been some alcohol involved, but long story short, I met a man in a festive woman's turtleneck and Santa hat, and the rest was history.
