Corfu International Airport

We recommend booking your flights as early as possible to give yourself the most time to prepare. Teddy and Hannah will be flying into Athens International Airport before making our way to Corfu International Airport. The drive from Corfu International Airport to Messonghi (the village we will be getting married in) is about 20 minutes. You can take rental car or taxi cab from downtown Corfu to Messonghi. Many of the hotels that we recommend also have shuttles that run from the Corfu airport to the hotels in Messonghi. If you're exploring routing options, the owner of our villa recommends flying through London Heathrow and then connecting to Corfu, or flying through Athens and connecting to Corfu. If you choose to rent a car on Corfu, it will give you the flexibility to explore the island and make getting around easier. That said, please keep in mind that driving conditions are VERY different from what many of us are used to in the U.S. The owner of our villa recommends Alto Car Rental, Sunrise Car Rental, and Hertz. While Google Maps or Apple Maps may estimate a drive at 20 minutes, it can often take closer to 35 minutes due to narrow roads, gravel sections, sharp turns, and uneven terrain. The route from the airport to Messonghi is mostly paved and generally straightforward, but road conditions can vary throughout the island depending on weather or time of day. Ultimately, renting a car is entirely at your own discretion. If you do choose to rent one, just allow a little extra time for travel and enjoy the scenic drive!
