They were in the same high school debate club and were assigned to each other as team partners for one year. Most people in the club noticed that Stephen had a crush by the end of that year, which they teased Hannah about constantly. She didn't feel the same at the time and (strongly) denied any possibility of her liking him. 4 years later, they were still talking about things like her love of coffee, his mild obsession with board games, and their common interests like TV shows (Parks and Rec, the Blacklist, etc.) They’d become very close friends and, well, the rest is history...
They took a day trip into Cleveland, OH in late October to visit the Cleveland Museum of Art. One of their favorite professors at college had recommended it to us and they’d talked about going together for a long time. Hannah had mentioned that she always wanted to get engaged in the fall and that the museum had some beautiful outdoor grounds (hint hint). It was a gorgeous fall day with clear skies, which made the outdoor proposal absolutely perfect. After walking around outside reflecting on college memories, Stephen pulled Hannah to one side and popped the question. She said yes!
