The ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm. It will be held at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
The reception will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020, following the ceremony. It will be held at Covington Country Club. We will have a few cars to bring out of town guests from the ceremony to the reception if needed. Please let us know ahead of time if you will need this service.
We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
Both venues have plenty of free parking for guests. The parking for the ceremony is on every side of the church. The parking for the reception is in the gated area to the left of the building.
After the ceremony, guests may spend time enjoying a cocktail hour at the reception venue. The reception will begin approximately an hour after the ceremony ends.
We will have two caterers for a buffet style dinner that includes New Orleans style and Indian options, as well as a bakery providing a selection of desserts. There will also be an open bar with a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. We will have options available for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free diets.
Our wedding will be a formal event. For men, this could include a suit and tie, a sports coat, or a tux. For women this could include a full-length gown, a cocktail dress, or dress suit. Guests are also encouraged to wear their formal cultural attire if they would prefer.
The weather will most likely be chilly with the possibility of rain, due to the region and time of year. Our ceremony and reception will take place indoors, but it would be a good idea to consider bringing a jacket or sweater, as well as an umbrella.
Our wedding website includes a section labeled “RSVP” where you can RSVP for the ceremony and reception. This section is also where you can give us additional important information, such as the name of your plus one. Please remember to include whether or not your children will be attending the events with you in this section. We ask that all RSVPS be submitted to our wedding website by November 20, 2020.
You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
Our wedding is strictly RSVP only, so make sure you notify us when you RSVP that you are planning to bring a date.
Most of your little ones hold a special place in our hearts, and we would love to have them there! However, this will be a formal event with an open bar. If you think that your children might be more comfortable at home with a babysitter, we understand. Please make sure that you RSVP accordingly, so that we know whether you plan to have your children attend the events with you or not.
Our wedding website includes a “Travel” section that includes hotel and car rental suggestions. There are also many transportation options, such as Uber, Lyft, and taxies. The nearest airport is the new Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY) in New Orleans. Our wedding website also includes a “Things To Do” page where you can find some of our suggestions to fill your extra time with while in town.
Yes! We would appreciate if everyone would use #hannahandshiva so that we can see all of your photos from our wedding!
