Our romance, like most good things, began with frozen custard. After connecting through mutual friends at a Catholic young adult event in the Fall of 2017, a group of us wound up at Ted Drewe’s. Hannah said she did not want any custard. Sean could not fathom a reason why. Thus began a lovely, perplexing friendship… The loveliness came as our friendship quickly blossomed. We got to know each other through long conversations while running together in Forest Park, and stayed connected through postcards and phone calls while Hannah was moving around the country for physical therapy clinicals. The perplexity came from the fact that Sean planned to become a Franciscan friar, which complicated the budding, new relationship that was developing. We finally decided to move from friendship to romantic relationship in March 2019. Since then, our affection for one another has grown through countless FaceTime calls, novenas, and pickleball games. We’ve had adventures together taking us from the Katy Trail to the Grand Canyon. You can often find us in the kitchen cooking new recipes, with pen and paper in hand writing poems, or with our tin whistle and bouzouki playing music together. We look forward to growing as individuals and as a couple through our marriage, and we are excited to celebrate with you!
