Beginning a relationship with a lie is typically a deal-breaker - but not for us. In the Spring of 2019 Hannah was in the Bay Area for six weeks as part of a clinical rotation for her PA-C program at USC. The magic of the Hinge algorithm united us for a first date, where it was quickly revealed that Hannah did not actually live in San Francisco (as her profile erroneously claimed). Undeterred and with a ticking clock on our time together in the same city, we made the absolute most of the next month, promising to see one another as much as we could. After all, Los Angeles isn't THAT far away. Over the course of the next nine months we both made countless trips back and forth, growing our relationship step-by-step, until mid-March of 2020 when Hannah flew up for what we thought would be a one week Spring Break. One Covid lockdown and two months later we were officially living together and it was abundantly clear that neither of us had any intention of ever being apart again. Scott proposed in July 2023 on one of our favorite SF walks, which ends at a viewpoint that looks over most of the city. We both feel so fortunate to have all of you celebrate our wedding with us, at a venue that overlooks where we spent part of our first date and only a few blocks away from the first apartment we shared with one another in Oakland.
