Dear Guests, We are getting excited to celebrate our wedding with you, albeit virtually, THIS Saturday. As expressed previously, we have limited the number of guests at our ceremony as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Please note the ceremony will now begin at 5pm, and the livestream link will go live at 4:30pm. You are invited to "arrive" a bit early to hear the prelude and make sure the technology is working properly. On Saturday, you will only need to copy and paste this link in your browser: https://live.eventlive.pro/hbrent_mck/the-wedding-of-samuel-mcknight-and-hannah-silver You should immediately be directed to our event on Eventlive. After a good bit of research, we hope this service will be stronger than Zoom and more user-friendly on your end. We are very grateful for your understanding and flexibility as we try to plan a wedding right now. We understand that the challenges we face are shared by all. So, we want to be sure that no one feels any pressure to attend our ceremony if your situation presents difficulties in doing so. In any case, we look forward to catching up with each of you as soon as the situation allows. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. All our best, Samuel McKnight and Hannah Silver https://live.eventlive.pro/hbrent_mck/the-wedding-of-samuel-mcknight-and-hannah-silver
Family and Friends, It is with heavy hearts that we must inform you of changes to our wedding plans. Rest assured, we are still getting married on May 30th, but the day will look different than planned. With reverence to the law and a desire to maintain standards of social responsibility, we will abide by the limitations of the stay-at-home directives set forth by Mecklenburg County and the state of North Carolina. Although we recognize the speed by which the situation is changing, it is unlikely restrictions on gathering size will be lifted in time. Even if they were, your health and safety are our top priority. Our vision from the beginning has been to reflect, albeit imperfectly, the joy that is to come at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb. Now, that imperfection is all the more tenable. Thank you for blessing us, influencing us, guiding us, and encouraging us throughout our lives. We are grateful to celebrate our marriage with our immediate family and wedding party, but we feel the loss of celebrating with you, our community. Please join us in prayer that the start of our marriage, though in the midst of a worldwide crisis, will set a precedent of unity and tenacity for many years to come. Finally, our hearts are broken for those who have lost their livelihoods and loved ones because of the pandemic. Our prayer is for restoration and renewal in the whole world. We hope that our wedding, despite its size, can be a small part of that healing. We invite you to join our wedding ceremony via Zoom but completely understand if you are weary from “Zoom fatigue” and cannot make it. We are working out the time for a ceremony in the early evening on May 30th and will send the Zoom invitation by email the week before. It will certainly be a #McKnightToRemember! In the future, we plan to have a barbeque at the Silver family home to which you all will be invited. Stay tuned for more details on this. We joyfully anticipate seeing you then.
