Right next to the wedding venue, there is a town park with two play structures for kids and covered picnic tables. For those bringing kids from out-of-state, this spot can offer an area for kids to explore and play on the day of the wedding.
If you love bowling, beer, and/or pizza, spend some time at the local bowling alley! You don't have to bowl to hang out at the bar/restaurant.

Clayton, NY (1 hour west of Harrisville and 30 minutes north of Watertown) is a quiet waterfront village in the Thousand Islands region. The area is known for its scenic St. Lawrence River, scattered islands, and easy access to the water, including boat tours that visit well-known local castles like Boldt Castle and Singer Castle. The village has a simple, walkable downtown with riverfront views, small shops, and casual places to eat. You can find various river sightseeing tours that depart right from the area.
Sackets Harbor, NY (about 1 hour SW of Harrisville and 20 minutes west of Watertown) is a small historic village on the shore of Lake Ontario. The area is known for its scenic harbor, peaceful lake views, and War of 1812 history (with well-preserved battle sites and museums). It has a walkable downtown with waterfront restaurants, local shops, and cozy cafés. Just over an hour from Harrisville, this is a major lake along Highway 3 that runs east of Harrisville.
Lake Placid lies just under 2 hours east of Harrisville. The Adirondack village is known for its pristine lakes, Olympic history (1932 & 1980), historic home and resting place of abolitionist John Brown, and general mountain-town atmosphere. (The drive along Highway 3 is worth it alone!)
The scenic byways of the Adirondack Park are hard to oversell. If you like nature, outdoor adventure, and/or rugged coziness, it's worth staying an extra day (or several) to explore the area.
