Shuttle

We’ve got transportation covered for all three days! Shuttles will run between Lucca City Center and Casale de’ Pasquinelli for each event. We will be using three 20-seater buses and one 7-seater van to ensure everyone gets there comfortably. Pickup Location: Piazzale Martiri della Libertà, 65-59 Friday, June 20th, 2025 - WELCOME PIZZA PARTY All buses will be available for loading starting at 7:00pm. Once a bus fills, it will take off. The last bus will leave promptly at 7:30pm. Saturday, June 21st, 2025 - WEDDING DAY All buses will be available for loading starting at 3:00pm. Once a bus fills, it will take off. The last bus will leave promptly at 3:30pm. Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 - POOL PARTY All buses will be available for loading starting at 11:00am. Once a bus fills, it will take off. The last bus will leave promptly at 11:30am. If you happen to miss the buses, unfortunately, you will need to arrange your own transportation to the venue.
Flight
Pisa airport (PSA) is the closest airport to Lucca. If you are traveling around Europe prior to the wedding, Pisa airport may be the easiest airport to fly into. If you are traveling directly from the US, you can fly into Pisa with a layover. The Pisa airport is 25 minutes from Lucca city center by car and 45 minutes by train. Our wedding planner can help arrange a private transfer/taxi from Pisa airport to Lucca.
Flight
Most major airlines fly into Florence's airport (FLR), however, since this is a smaller airport you should expect a layover when flying into this airport from the US. Lucca is a 45 minute drive from the Florence airport. You may choose to hire a private transfer or rent a car and drive yourself. More details on scheduling a private transfer below. You can also take an hour bus directly from the Florence airport to Lucca. See bus details below. You may also take a train from Florence city center to Lucca. See train details below.
Flight
The Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is the international hub for flights from the US. From here, a high-speed train can take you to Florence in approximately an hour and a half. Once arriving in Florence, you can choose to take a second train to Lucca, rent a car and drive to Lucca, or arrange a private transfer to Lucca (see details for all of these options below). Alternatively, a scenic 3-4 hour car ride will get you from Rome to Lucca.
Flight
The Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) is another international airport, offering direct flights from the US. If you choose to fly into Milan there is a scenic, high-speed train from Milan to Florence that takes about two hours. Once arriving in Florence, you can choose to take a second train to Lucca, rent a car and drive to Lucca, or arrange a private transfer to Lucca (see details for all of these options below). Alternatively, a scenic 3 hour car ride will get you from Milan to Lucca.
Train
If you are flying into Florence, the bus line "DD" runs approximately every two hours directly from the airport (station: Firenze T2 Guidoni) to Lucca (station: Lucca Piazzale Verdi) and takes one hour. If you are flying into Pisa, the bus line “E3” runs approximately every hour from the airport (station: Pisa sesta porta) to Lucca (station: Lucca Piazzale Verdi) and takes 45 minutes.
Train
The train from Florence to Lucca takes approximately an hour and a half, making local stops along the way. Florence’s main train station is called Firenze Santa Maria Novella. You can find the train schedules and tickets at either https://www.trenitalia.com/ or https://www.italiarail.com/
Travel Note
One easy way to get to Lucca would be to hire a private transfer from the location of your choice. If you are traveling with a group of friends, you can hire a shared minibus private transfer for fairly cheap. Our wedding planner can help arrange this for you. Travel Note
We highly recommend downloading and setting up the apps, "apptaxi" and/or "freenow" BEFORE traveling as the apps may not be able to be set up properly with a US number while in Italy. Click below to connect to a local taxi company. If you are staying at a hotel, concierge should be able to assist you in calling taxis.
Rental Car
Renting a car is best if you are staying outside of the city walls and would like to explore the beautiful Tuscan countryside in your down time. It is recommended to book with a trusted rental company like Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, Sixt, etc.

Lucca city center will have the most choices in terms of accommodations and will allow you to explore the charming city in your down time. Lucca has a variety of hotels and bookings for guests to stay! The best sites to book through are booking.com and luccaapartmentsandvillas.co.uk The city center is approximately 20 minutes from the wedding venue.

For a more authentic Tuscan experience, you may want to consider staying in an Agroturismo/B&B hotel in the hills closer to the wedding venue. We listed some recommendations below, but there are many to choose from! Something to consider: transportation to and from the wedding venue will take place from Lucca city center. You may need to arrange your own transportation to wedding events if you stay outside the city.
