How We Met

Hello, Murphy here. Our story looks a lot like one of those movies you see on tv. The beautiful girl and the dorky guy meet and become friends. The guy falls head over heels from the get-go, while it's clear the girl doesn't see him in that way just yet. The two spend a lengthy time getting to know each other and quickly develop a flirtatious relationship that at times confuses the guy into thinking the girl likes him too, so he pours out his feelings to the girl only to get shut down. Unfortunately for me this happened multiple times because I didn't learn my lesson. Yay me. To continue on with our box-office story, eventually the persistence and determination of the guy prevails and the girl falls in love with him and they get together in the end. Yeah, that pretty much sums up the story of how we met.

The Proposal

June 14th, 2020

The two of us had planned a trip down to St. Simon's Island for a much needed vacation. Little did Hannah know, she would eventually be setting herself up for her own proposal. The proposal was planned to take place on the last full day of the trip, so a lot of planning and secret-keeping had to take place in the days prior. After a bunch of secret text/phone conversations, all of the details were set and we were ready to go. On Sunday, June 14th, 2020, Hannah and I, along with Hannah's cousin Samantha and my younger brother Payton, made our way over to Jekyll Island's Driftwood Beach for a magical surprise. After a bit of walking, we found the perfect spot and Hannah set up her own camera and tripod to record a time-lapse of the waves; or so she thought. Hannah and I stepped out into the shot to "take some pictures", and that's when I asked her to marry me. She said YES! Both of our families came out of hiding to surprise us and we all went out to dinner to celebrate.
