Question

Are COVID vaccinations or negative tests required?

Answer

You are a thoughtful and considerate group, and we are confident that the risk of contagion at our reception is low. That said, in the spirit of keeping our event as safe as possible, we are asking guests to provide one of the following: 1) proof of full COVID vaccination or 2) proof of a recent negative COVID test. The test should be a PCR test, either rapid or regular, and completed within 72 hours of the event––i.e. no earlier than the evening of Tuesday, August 3rd. Please upload documentation for you and your party through this form by noon on August 6th: https://forms.gle/jXysEAJ9yYuviavk8. We also ask you to use your best judgment and stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms or believe you may be COVID positive. Per new CDC guidelines, it is recommended that even vaccinated people who have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID be tested to ensure they are not a carrier.

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

New York City COVID guidelines from August 2nd state that masks are recommended but not required for public indoor spaces. Given that our wedding is a private event, the Boathouse is neither requiring nor officially recommending masks at our wedding––though you are of course welcome to wear one if you feel most comfortable doing so. (We will have complimentary masks on hand.) Assuming the weather cooperates, both our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside. Dinner and dancing are planned to be inside but with the Boathouse doors kept open for maximum ventilation.

Question

What is the best way to get to the Boathouse?

Answer

Within New York City, the easiest way is to come by public transit or taxi (yellow cab or Lyft/Uber). If you are taking public transit, the closest stop to the venue is the Prospect Park B/Q, 5 minutes away. You can also take the 2/5 to Sterling Street, about 10–15 minutes away. Enter the Park via the Willink Drive or Lincoln Avenue entrance. If you are coming by taxi or ride share, please tell your driver to drop you off on Ocean and Lincoln Avenues, then walk across the running path, under the tunnel, to the Boathouse. For more detailed directions and a map, see the note on transportation posted on our "Travel & Transportation" page. For information on driving and parking, see below.

Question

Will there be parking if I am coming by car?

Answer

Yes, there is complimentary parking for our guests on site! To get to the parking lot, enter Prospect Park via the Willink Drive entrance (a right turn off of Flatbush Avenue, about 100 feet before the traffic light at the intersection of Empire Boulevard and Ocean Avenue). Park staff will be on call to direct you to the lot from here. Please note that the lot will only open 30 minutes before our event, at 5:30pm. For more detailed directions and a map, see the note on transportation posted on our "Travel & Transportation" page.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

August in New York City will be hot and a large part of our event will be outdoors. We want to keep things cocktail-style, but welcome comfortable garments so long as they are festive!

Question

Are my kids invited to the wedding? Or my date?

Answer

We love your kids and would love to meet significant others, but we are trying to keep things manageable. On the day of, we are only planning for those listed on your invitation.
