We met 2 years and 9 months ago. It was 2 weeks after I had moved from Pasadena, Texas to Cloquet, Minnesota. As we were introduced, I gave her a hug and she exclaimed, “You’re a hugger!” and returned the squeeze. Thus, a friendship was born, with zero intent on going anywhere else or getting any deeper. However, the friendship deepened to one as between siblings, still with zero attraction or intent to start a dating relationship. After 3 years of living away, Hannah moved back home. Something had changed, and was easily noticeable one day while we were hanging out and eating Taco John’s. I had choked on some lettuce and ended up spitting my food all over Hannah. I was embarrassed, but Hannah only laughed and gave the cutest snort. From that point on, everything else seemed to just fall into place. The sibling friendship had blossomed into a romantic relationship. Looking back, it was as if God had been preparing us for each other all along.
