The Coffee Grinder
This is our go-to spot for a midday pick-me-up. After 25 years of continuous operation at the end of Bannister’s Wharf, in 2022 the Coffee Grinder moved to the historic Perry Mill building nestled between Newport Harbor and Thames Street. The Coffee Grinder offers excellent drinks and pastries, cheerful service, and one of the nicest settings available anywhere. This is a must stop for any visit to Newport!
Belle's
This is our favorite spot for breakfast, though they also offer a delicious lunch menu. Nestled within a historic shipyard, you'll pass beautiful ships being painted, cleaned, or repaired on your way in. Located right on the water, the restaurant offers both cozy indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy your meal.
The Lobster Bar
This is our favorite spot for a casual lunch. Located in the heart of Bowen's Wharf, it's the perfect place to grab a quick lobster roll and a bowl of clam chowder. With both indoor and outdoor seating right on the water, you can enjoy your meal while watching the boats go by.
Giusto
This is our favorite spot for dinner, offering exceptional Italian cuisine and an incredible wine selection. Personally, we always opt for the 'Chef's Menu,' a shared dining experience with expertly paired wines for each course. Fun fact: we dined here the night we got engaged!
The Cookie Jar
This is our go-to spot for a sweet treat! The Cookie Jar serves up fresh, warm baked goods, and our all-time favorite is the classic chocolate chip cookies.

Looking for a fun activity? One of our favorite spots is the Audrain Auto Museum. The museum showcases a stunning collection of vehicles, from classic cars to rare, one-of-a-kind models. Their collection changes seasonally, making it a great way to see unique automobiles that you won’t find on the road every day.
