The Story of Us

It all began on the shores of Sturgeon Bay. Little did we know that one encounter at a triathlon in Door County would change our lives. For our first date, we were able to sit under a bridge in Sturgeon Bay and watch a thunderstorm roll through. Our first kiss was a magical moment on the shores of Lake Michigan with the clear sky and bright moon reflecting perfectly off the smooth water. From that night on, it was a relationship between a hunter, born and raised in Sturgeon Bay and a nurse determined to serve in the U.S. Navy. We were joined by our love for the outdoors and the value of family. Through all of the challenges we encountered, we learned more about ourselves. Early mornings were never a problem for Hannah's year round marathon training and Logan's deer, duck, goose hunting and of course fishing in all seasons. Out of everything, there are a few moments in our relationship that really stand out. We sat together for deer hunting, duck hunting and lots of fishing! We love to walk through the woods, appreciating nature and Logan scouting for hunting opportunities. . Logan was the support that Hannah needed as she trained for the Boston marathon and was there to congratulate her as she crossed the finish line. Our first road trip together was along the East Coast. We discovered that we love national parks and Logan's driving is better than Hannah's. After countless family dinners, walks through the woods , moving into a fixer upper home, plenty of Wisconsin traveling, and growth for eachother as individuals, we realized this was true love. In March of 2019, Hannah officially joined the U.S. Navy . We have been through 5 weeks away at Officer Training and a move to California. Since then it has been trips back and forth to cherish days together and proving love overcomes all distance. Our story comes full circle as on October 29, 2019, at that spot on the Lake Michigan shoreline, he asked, and she said yes.
