Grand Haven State Park and Boardwalk
A beautiful spot to take in Lake Michigan, especially in early October. If we’re lucky enough to get a beach day in October, this is the place we’d recommend. The crowds thin out, the air is crisp, and it’s a peaceful spot to walk the beach or pier.
Rosy Mound Natural Area
A favorite for nature lovers visiting Grand Haven. Rosy Mound offers scenic trails, dunes, and beautiful views of Lake Michigan. It’s perfect for a peaceful hike and a breath of fresh air.
Odd Side Ales
A must-stop for us every time we’re back in Michigan. Odd Side Ales is a laid-back local brewery known for great craft beer and a welcoming atmosphere. Please note they only serve drinks, but you can bring in your own food!
The Unicorn Tavern
A fun, laid-back local favorite with great food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Perfect for a casual meal or drinks while you’re in town for the weekend.
Side Bar Artisan Coffee
One of our favorite spots in Grand Haven for a great cup of coffee. Sidebar Coffee is cozy, local, and perfect for a morning pick-me-up or a quick break while exploring town. It's also in the same space as Odd Side!
Morning Star Cafe
Our first date spot! Our favorite is the cinnamon roll, but everything on the menu is fantastic. This is a local favorite best known for its creative dishes and great coffee.
Downtown Grand Haven Shops
Take a stroll through downtown and pop into the local shops. From Fortino’s to small boutiques, it’s an easy place to wander, shop, and enjoy the heart of Grand Haven near the water. Our favorites include Fortino's candy store and Pink Lemonade for home decor and other trinkets.
The Toasted Pickle Grand Haven
A casual, local spot known for great sandwiches and comfort food. It’s an easy go-to for lunch or dinner if you’re looking for something relaxed and tasty. Kyle and I like to go to Odd Side Ales and order this to our table (small town things).
