The Hazard's (to be)

You could say it all started on the rugby pitch. Back in the day at Old Cryptians Rugby Club, Hannah was the ever-professional sports therapist, and Kane was the quietly confident centre. Hannah had a bit of a crush (a big one, actually), but kept it under wraps—after all, professionalism comes first! Meanwhile, Kane, the shy lad he was, figured someone like Hannah wouldn’t possibly be interested in him. Spoiler alert: they were both wrong… because they totally fancied each other. Time moved on. Hannah went off to continue her studies and explore the world, while Kane travelled far and wide with England Rugby Travel. Despite the distance, they stayed loosely connected—an Instagram reply here, a question about a dodgy shoulder there. The spark never quite disappeared. There’s a saying that you meet the right person three times—and for Hannah and Kane, that couldn’t be more true. Fast forward to 03/02/2020, and fate finally stepped in. Kane had just been named Member of the Month at Glevum CrossFit (a gym that would later hold a very special place in their hearts). Hannah replied to his Instagram story—something small, casual, friendly… and yet, that moment changed everything. Their first official date was on 15/02/2020—yes, how cliché and perfect! But, as we all know, 2020 had plans of its own. Lockdowns hit. Hannah moved back home while Kane remained in Gloucester. The government even placed them in different tiers! FaceTime became their lifeline. And though the world stood still, their connection only deepened. As the months passed (and as Kane’s hair grew longer and longer), June arrived—and so did freedom. They reunited when Kane visited Hannah’s family home, and she took him to Hengistbury Head for fish and chips by the sea. It was there, in that quiet, salty breeze, that they both just knew. This was something forever. Since then, they’ve lived a lot of life together—Hannah completed her second degree, Kane changed careers, they moved in together, bought their first home, and shared adventures with family and friends near and far. Then, on 23/06/2024, four years to the day after their second first date, in the very same spot, Kane got down on one knee and asked the question. She said yes! Now there’s a wedding to celebrate, a home to grow in, and a very special someone else in their lives—Ruby Roo, their beloved pup And the perfect story of dates continues…(Hannah will proudly tell you her birthday if you ask!). From DMs and delayed dates to dog walks and diamond rings, this is just the beginning of forever for The Hazards.
