Our Engagement

July 3, 2021

Right before 4th of July weekend we made our way back to our favorite place (Manhattan, KS) for a night out on the town with some friends! Right before going out we went to grab some food and Justin suggested that while we were out and in town we should go visit one of our favorite spots, Shamrock Cafe, a scenic overlook right outside of Manhattan. For background knowledge this place is special to us as it was one of our very first dates and the place Hannah joked to Justin that it should have been the place that he asked her to be his girlfriend, (he asked the next day in a less exciting manner). We drove out right before sunset and it was such a beautiful day, we sat and talked and admired the beautiful overlook. Hannah made the comment of “it’s beautiful, but how long are we supposed to stay and stare.” Not long after she grabbed the car keys to signal that she was ready to go, but an unexpected turn happened and Justin got down on one knee. The most sentimental moment of our lives when he said “I may not have asked you to be my girlfriend here, but I want to ask you to be my wife”. Of course Hannah said YES!

How We Met

May 2017

Needless to say it was love at first swipe right… After matching and texting back and forth for a while Justin and Hannah agreed to go on a first date. Obviously, had to be in public because online strangers could be a real danger. We decided to go to a K-State baseball game, it helps that it was a free event with student IDs for us poor college kids! Justin picked up Hannah from her apartment and her first impression was that he was super cute and could definitely tell he may be kind of nervous. Justin’s first impression was that she was cute and fun to be around. Once arriving to the baseball game it was definitely awkward back and forth conversation and we left mid baseball game because we were already fried like lobsters. We proceeded to go to Sonic to cool off … and the rest is history!
