While on campus of OPSU, visit the No Man's Land Museum which offers a wide variety of notable exhibits dedicated to preserving and representing the history of the panhandle. Best to call ahead Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm.
Visit Alibates Flint Quarries National Park for a look into the history and culture of the High Plains of Texas. Hike to the quarries with a Ranger and learn about this special type of flint. Quarry Tours will resume in April and are by reservation only. It’s 97 miles from Guymon.
90 miles from Guymon, this state park offers hiking including a challenging but rewarding hick to the summit of Black Mesa, the highest point in Oklahoma. Also known for dark skies for stargazing.
Starting at the park you will find the first historical marker for Guymon. At least six other markers are within walking distance of this marker include ET Guymon, The Cow, The Pig, Oil & Gas, Panhandle Area Natural Gas and "Trees" of the Prairie.
