The dress code for our wedding is beach semi-formal. We want our guests to look and feel their best, and we encourage colors!
The weather can vary this time of year in Charleston. March 30th in 2024 was sunny and 75, but it could also be in the 50s. Cross your fingers for warm weather and pack a jacket or layers just in case!
The only major airport is Charleston International Airport which is about a 25-30 minute drive to the venue. All other major airports are 2+ hours away.
The ceremony will take place on the North Croquet Lawn at the Wild Dunes Resort. This is on the eastern-most side of The Boardwalk Inn preceding the beach. The reception will take place in the Indigo Ballroom, which is within the Wild Dunes Resort on the rooftop of The Sweetgrass Inn. The venues are within walking distance of one another.
The ceremony will be outdoors. The reception venue at the Indigo Rooftop offers indoor space for dining with access to a large rooftop terrace.
Our wedding celebration is RSVP only, and we will be able to accommodate only those listed on your wedding invitation.
We have hotel blocks at the Sweetgrass Inn and Boardwalk Inn, both located on property (EXPIRES 2/28/2025). Both hotels have ocean views, restaurants, shopping, and pools. The Sweetgrass Inn: Overlooks the expansive resort pools and hot tubs. Our reception will take place in this building. The Boardwalk Inn: Overlooks the adult-only pool as well as the beach-side Grand Pavilion pools. This hotel is adjacent to our ceremony. If you are looking for more of a vacation rental feel, the resort also has those available for rent. A separate link is provided with details on the "accommodations" tab of this website. Following our wedding ceremony, we will be serving passed hors d'oeuvres accompanied by an open bar at the cocktail hour. A plated dinner will be served during the following reception and the open bar will remain all evening.
Since you are traveling for our wedding, making the trip is a gift in itself - physical gifts are absolutely not necessary! If you do choose to browse our wedding registry, any items on the list can be shipped directly to our home address.
All lodging and events are on site and do not require transportation! If you or someone in your party may have difficulty walking across the resort, we will have limited golf carts accessible to drive those individuals to and from events.

The resort has dining, shopping, beach access, and all amenities on site so a rental car would not be necessary. If you are looking to do a day trip to explore downtown Charleston, ridesharing services may be more cost effective.
