National WWI Museum and Memorial
Probably the best view of the city. The monument is impressive, and if you have time we highly recommend the actual museum.
Mission Taco Joint - East Crossroads
A low-key stop for contemporary tacos! We love the portabello taco (Wood-fire grilled portobello mushrooms, goat cheese, crispy onions, arugula, smashed black beans, and chipotle aioli)! Goes well with a refreshing margarita!
Boulevard Brewing Company
Kansas City's premier brewery. Hannah loves the Boulevard Wheat, and Jim loves the Space Camper IPA. The balcony has a beautiful view but it does get crowded!
The Westside Local
This is a nice spot for a medium-nice sit-down meal. We love the mac and cheese and all the fresh veggies!
Waldo Pizza
This is our favorite pizza spot! The honey wheat crust is the perfect touch on a warm cheesy pie!
Q39 - Midtown
One of the many notable KC BBQ joints. KC is known for the burnt ends, and Q39's are among the best.
Kansas City Bier Company
Great place for a crisp German bier!
Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que
The original KC BBQ joint. The Z-man (can be made vegetarian) is legendary. The restaurant is a converted gas station... it does get busy!
River Market
Scenic riverfront area with restaurants and an open market Saturday morning!

An arcade bar! There is also a pizza joint in the back so you won't go hungry while playing games!
Messenger Coffee
A favorite coffee spot of ours! They have great cafe style eats and their homemade bread is to die for. You can't beat the smells here because on each floor they are creating the bread or coffee beans right in the center of where you sit!
Swordfish Tom's
This is where we had our first date! You have to go through an alley to find the door to this speakeasy but it will set the vibe for our wedding for you! If the light is green go on in! If the light is red, wait your turn.
Chicken n Pickle
A bar with a lot of outdoor seating and games! They have pretty good food and pickle ball courts.
