VISA REQUIREMENTS

To all our America friends and family, before coming into the UK you are required to acquire an ETA [tourist visa]. These are really easy and simple to do. Jayson had his approved in literally minutes. Please let us know if you need any help with this, and we will be more than happy to assist!

Getting to the UK - Manchester Airport

There are a variety of airports to choose from to arrive in the UK. The closest airport to the venue is Manchester Airport, however, if you're planning on arriving in the UK before the wedding to travel around Europe, London Heathrow might be a better option. Look at "Things To Do" to get an idea of other countries and cities to explore!!!

Driving in the UK

Key Distinctions driving in UK: * Drive on the left - meaning the steering wheel is on the opposite side of the vehicle * NO turning left or right on a red light - you must always wait for the green light * At a traffic light, before the light turns green, the light will first change to orange then green - E.g., ready, set, go * UK roads can be very narrow - be aware that some roads are two-way, even though they appear to be one-way * When driving on the Motorway (Highway/ Freeway) always pass on the outside never the inside * The speed limit on the Motorway is 70 miles per hour unless stated otherwise * At a roundabout give-way (yield) to cars coming from the right - if it's clear you do NOT need to stop * Roundabouts are more common than STOP signs

Rental Car

Rental Cars

Rental cars are available to from Manchester Airport, or any other airport in the country. For our American friends and family who are not familiar with driving a manual car you must specifically request an automatic vehicle, otherwise you will be given a stick shift. NOTE: As UK roads are narrower smaller cars are driven - it is unadvisable to rent a very large car as the roads near the venue are very narrow
