Hannah and Jim’s love story begins in July of 2020, when the two started working at ABS. They arrived at the office, masks on and six feet apart, picked up their laptops, and exited the building. They shared the occasional work message or attended the same virtual happy hour, but they wouldn’t see each other in person again for nearly two years. Jim made the most of his time quarantining in Houston and Hannah bounced around the country, moving between Texas, California, and Michigan while waiting to get the call to return to the office. Hannah was caught off guard when she instead received a message from Jim, who had realized she was working remotely only a few hours away from his family’s summer vacation spot in Harbor Springs. They soon discovered they had more in common than either could have guessed. Both were born and raised in Texas but spent their summers with family only two hours apart on Lake Michigan. They shared the same college major in undergrad and graduate school. They were both passionate about their college football teams. They both had big ol’ yellow retrievers named Sam and Sammy. The two eventually returned to the office where their friendship grew over chips and queso on their lunch breaks. They initially agreed that dating coworkers was something neither was interested in doing, but after a couple years of friendship and an undeniable connection, that thought went out the window. On August 15, 2025, five years and one month after the two first met, Jim took Hannah down to the shore of Lake Michigan and got down on one knee. She gave an enthusiastic “YES!” and the two are now thrilled to celebrate their love with you!
