Like all relationships now a days, these two beautiful souls met online. After hearing they have mutual friends, they decided that it would be okay to meet in person. Hunter asked Hannah if she would like to go bowling for their first date and she accepted with no hesitation. They met at the bowling alley, but to their surprise they were not able to bowl because of Senior Bowling Night. After a quick decision, they decided to play pool even though they both were horrible at it. They played for a couple hours and even had people next to them trying to coach them how to play. After their embarrassing performance on the pool table, Hunter asked Hannah if she would want to grab a beer at a local bar. Doing this gave them the option of sitting and getting to know each other. It turned out to be the best decision they made, because the next day, they wanted to hang out again and continue to learn about each other. From that moment that they embarrassed themselves on the pool table, they would never be alone again.
The proposal was as rocky as the mountain that they hiked to do it on. Originally, Hunter wanted to do it with both families present, so that everyone would see, but as time approached, he started to get anxious about how he would go about it. He wanted to make sure everyone was happy, but didn't want to jeopardize a special moment that is meant for Hannah and himself. So without a game plan, both families hiked a mountain to look at a waterfall. Hunter had the ring in his fanny pack, but no one knew if he would do it then or not. On the way back down the mountain, Hunter devised a plan on the fly. First step in the elaborate plan was to act like he had to tie his shoe. This gave Hannah and himself some space from the families that hiked the mountain. Next was to figure out where to conduct the proposal ceremony, but the trail they were on was flooded with people hiking up and down the mountain. So, Hunter (being the wise man he is) said that he had to use the bathroom. They strolled through bushes and dirt to get to a creek. Hannah was the lookout to make sure no one came up to the creek while he used the bathroom. At this moment, Hunter saw a tree vine hanging over the river and told Hannah that she could probably sit on it and swing over the creek. Hannah didn't think that it would hold her, so she tested the weight on the vine. When she turned around, Hunter was on one knee with a ring in his hand. He said "Hannah you know I love you and I always will. Will you marry me?" and got the response from Hannah "Shut Up". Of course she said "Yes" afterwards, but the state of shock was too overwhelming. As we walked back down the mountain, both families were waiting and that's when she broke the news. Everyone was so excited and we spent the next couple of days celebrating in Asheville as a new unified family.
