When Gibran rolled into the sleepy town of Kilgore Texas in mid-august 2012, he had no idea that he would end up meeting the girl he'd marry. To be honest, she wasn't even available. Hannah had been in Texas for a few years and was nursing a broken heart. They met and seemed to get along fine. He was witty and handsome. She was giggly and winsome. What's not to like? Everything was very civil. Eventually, Hannah's search for healing led her away from the little town and took her back on tour as an event manager with a huge christian youth event. While she traveled, Gibran furthered his studies and got accepted to Dallas Baptist University. He had outgrown Kilgore and was excited for his return to the DTX metroplex. While they both moved into new seasons, neither were ever completely aware of the other. Sure, they remained acquaintances, but they were only linked through mutual friends. When they saw each other, they enjoyed their interactions. Gibran thought Hannah was pretty, Hannah thought Gibran was attractive. Again, very civil. Until. July 4th, 2015. The aforementioned "mutual friends" had a barbecue in Arlington, TX. Hannah was living in Dallas now and had just started at Gateway Church. She LOVED the city, she LOVED her job. Things were looking up! So anything seemed possible. When Gibran got to the party, he decided that he was done being just civil! He was finished knowing Hannah from a distance. And after they exchanged numbers (her idea) he asked her out on the best first date ever. (He MADE chick-fil-a sauce) *gasp* After a few weeks of dating, they made it official and in September of that year, they said I love you for the first time. From that point till now, they have both known that through whatever argument, job opportunity, ministry need, sleepless night, family crisis or hair change ...they want to walk through life together. That's why on Dec. 25th of 2018, Gibran asked Hannah to marry him. This is gonna be good, folks. Stay tuned!
