We met at the Batroun triathlon coincidentally. Because Hannah had the lead during the first discipline of swimming and cannot cycle to save her life, Emilio first noticed Hannah as he passed her on the cycling leg. In the last few minutes of the race, with only 1km left, Hannah flew by Emilio on the run, of which he then yelled "AYFKM?" A few days later Emilio asked Hannah to dinner the night before her next race, and the rest is history.

The proposal is probably something we will remember for the rest of our lives. As many of you know Lebanon had been experiencing a horrible economic collapse. The months leading up to the proposal showed a steady and steep decline in living conditions with hyperinflation, lack of fuel for cars, lack of electricity, little access to goods and services country-wide. Although Emilio planned for an endearing proposal at the spot in the Batroun race where Hannah passed him running, we unfortunately did not have enough gas in the car to get us there! So, the proposal was done at home, just us two, with our two pups and it was perfect in its own way.
