We met in the Summer of 2010 during Sunday School, and boy was he hard to get to know! At the beginning of 2013, we were put in the same Trek youth group. I only have a few memories of him from that experience. Whenever I was walking next to Durrant, I would talk A LOT and he would just nod his head. We were talking by the fire one night and it was chilly, so we had the idea to put rocks in the fire to warm them up. Then we put them in socks for our sleeping bags. It was wonderful! I remember looking at him and telling him he has a weird nose haha! Also, at an axe thowing event, I threw an axe on the target and he gave me a high five. In Summer of 2017, he was back in Yuma doing roofing. We would always catch up whenever we saw each other and it turned into a friendship. He started nodding his head and talking more. I began to realize he was a complex, intelligent, and talented person. I didn’t fall in love until a certain event transpired at the Mission Beach parking lot. Let me set up the scene. 2 pm. Sun is high. Multiple cars are prowling the lot for a coveted spot. Durrant is driving the Lines’ family Excursion SUV(not tiny). He sees a couple walking back to their car. He jumps out runs after them holding a $10, so everyone waiting knows he paid for this spot. He then gets in and REVERSE parks into that small spot in one try. Inches away from the surronding vehicles. I’ll end with the most romantic part. I had been planning on moving to UT at the beginning of 2018 for over a year. Even though I had this amazing guy (Durrant) in my life, I knew I had to do it. So there I was Durrant-less in Orem, UT. I had been there a week, depressed when he calls me. “Hey Hannah. I’m moving to UT.” “When?!” “Next week.” Me: *looks into camera “The Office” style* “Got ‘em.” We’ve made a great life here, and I start school this summer for digital marketing at UVU. Durrant is planning on going into I.T. I’m so ready and excited to start life my my best friend!
