Bridges Bay Resort

We've reserved a block of rooms at Bridges Bay Resort in Arnold's Park, Iowa. Bridge's Bay sits right on the water and is just a short 10-minute drive away from the wedding venue. Guests can enjoy beautiful lake views, on-site restaurants and bars, and a great outdoor pool area. There's even an indoor/outdoor waterpark for the kids! Please note that the resort requires a two night minimum stay. Rooms can book fast here, so we recommend booking early to make sure you're part of the room block. To take advantage of the room block rates, you must call the front desk (712-332-2202), select Option 4 for Reservations, and mention you're with the Schmitz/Florer Wedding Block.

The Oakwood Inn

If you're looking for a more relaxing stay, we also recommend The Oakwood Inn in Spirit Lake. It's a charming, adults only bed and breakfast about 10-minutes away from the wedding venue. This hotel is surrounded by gardens and trees. Each room is beautifully designed with lots of cozy touches. The hotel features amenities such as an outdoor firepit, a communal den with a pool table and couches, and, if you're lucky, a whirlpool in your room. Note that The Oakwood Inn requires a two-night minimum stay and is for adults only (pets can come too). If you book soon, you can get in on the early season prices, so as always in this area, it's best to book right away.

Lake Okoboji Resort & Conference Center

If you're looking for a simple, convenient, and more flexible stay we have blocked rooms at the Lake Okoboji Resort. Unlike the other two options, this hotel allows one-night stays. It offers comfortable rooms, an indoor pool and hot tub, complimentary breakfast, and easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. When booking, be sure to mention the Schmitz/Florer wedding to get the block room prices.

Flight

Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD)

If you are flying from Chicago (ORD), Minneapolis–Saint Paul (MSP), Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), Phoenix (AZA and PHX), and/or Denver (DEN), there are direct flights to Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) which is a 1 hour and 40 minute drive to Okoboji, Iowa. If you're flying from a different location, we recommend flying into one of the international airports listed below.

Flight

Minnesota-Saint Paul National Airport (MSP)

Okoboji is about a three-hour drive from several major airports: Minneapolis (MSP), Omaha (OMA), and Des Moines (DSM). All are good options, but if you choose to go with a major airport, we recommend flying into Minneapolis. MSP typically has the most flight choices, and the drive to Okoboji includes the beautiful Minnesota River Valley National Scenic Byway.
