Celebrating a lifetime of love..

June 12th, 2021 marked the day we decided to meet in person at a local park. From the very first words exchanged, it felt as though we had known each other forever. The park was peaceful and quiet, but all we could hear were our voices—sharing thoughts, hopes, and dreams. As the sun began to set, we found a bench and continued talking—about everything and nothing all at once. We discussed our childhoods, our passions, and, most importantly, our shared love for God and our dreams for the future. Hours passed, and before we knew it, we had no intention of leaving. By the time midnight struck, we were still sitting in the car—laughing, sharing, and looking at each other as if we had discovered something truly special—something rare. In that quiet parking lot, under the stars, we realized that sometimes, the best connections come when you least expect them. That night marked the beginning of our testimony. Over the next four years, God has filled our lives with healing, patience, love, and endurance for our souls and spirits. We’ve grown in our gifts and talents, and traveled the world together on mission trips—never imagining that God would strengthen both our love and our ministries as quickly as He did. It all began in 2021 when we decided to take a break from our relationship. On July 19th, 2021, I received an unexpected package at my front door—an Amazon box. Inside was a jacket I had left at Diante’s house, a jacket I had told him to throw away rather than return to me. Along with the jacket, there were handwritten letters from Diante, filled with love and encouragement after I had suggested we take time apart. Even though I was the one who initiated the separation, his letters were full of love, Scriptures, and God’s promises of peace over my life. He expressed his understanding and respect for my decision, while assuring me that he wouldn’t be far away. In 2022, we made the decision to rekindle our relationship, the year God truly began to accelerate our journey together. By 2023, Diante began working on his first project—his debut book, written for his soon-to-be wife. The book took him an entire year to complete, stretching into 2024. On April 20th, 2024, two years after rebuilding our relationship, we took a weekend trip to visit my best friend, Leslie, in Pittsburgh, PA, with a stop to see Diante’s grandparents. Diante had brought along his book, which he was hiding from me. During our time in Pittsburgh, Diante and Leslie had planned a visit to the Botanical Gardens, along with some sightseeing around the city. It was in one of the sunrooms of the gardens where the proposal took place. But this wasn’t just any proposal—it was uniquely ours. Before I realized what was happening, Diante pulled an Amazon box from his camera backpack and told me he had a gift for me. He asked me to open it, and when I did, I was completely taken by surprise. Inside the box was the same jacket I had left at his house back in 2021. But that wasn’t all—alongside the jacket, there was a hardcover book titled Serenity Lane. The book was filled with pictures, cards, and letters that Diante had saved over the past two years—memories from our time together. The first page contained the typed version of the original letter he had written to me and left at my doorstep on July 19th, 2021. As I absorbed the memories and marveled at this full-circle moment, Diante flipped to the last page of the book, read the words aloud, and asked me to be his wife. Only God could finish writing this story, from the time apart on July 19th 2021 to time of Union on July 19th, 2025.
