Deanna is my person, and has been by my side through many years of friendship and hardship since the 8th grade. I'll admit that we weren't the fondest of each other when we first met but eventually became the best of friends. To me she is kind, caring, and generous like my mom, Meehye, was - although her sarcasm better resembles me rather than my mom. Deanna and her family have always cared for me, "adopting" and loving me as their own especially after the passing of my mom. In loving memory of Meehye and in honor of the significance of Deanna's friendship and sisterhood in my life, she will be the one to escort me down aisle!

Cherry was my first best friend, whom I met in 2nd grade. Throughout the years physical distance and our ambitions have pulled us in different directions, but we have always found our way back to each other and have been able to pick up right where we left off. Cherry is actually the first person I ever met that never judged or criticized others, although it took me many years to figure that out. She has always been an important person in my life and gives me the wisdom and kindness I need when I least expect it. After having grown up together, I couldn't imagine getting married without this girl by my side!

Mel Mel is my "nursing soulmate." Her friendship has not only helped me to acclimate to life in Hawaii, but has lifted me up through the toughest times during nursing school and adjustment to a new life in the unfamiliar. Through all the hours studying nursing and taking care of patients together, we have developed incredible trust, honesty, and comfort with one another... like maybe too much honesty and comfort! I am not only thankful for her part in this wedding but for her friendship that fills my heart and brings me joy.

Never in my life have I witnessed such a strong, effortless love between friends like my Father and Uncle John. Every summer, it was a must that the Commyn's and Szwarc's spend summer vacation together. Through that annual ritual, Uncle John Boy witnessed my transitions throughout my life from the smiling hyper boy I was into the man I am today. Every conversation he and I have had always consisted of great words of wisdom, always with the purest of intentions, and has helped me discover who I am as a person. As much as his words impacted me, his actions spoke louder. His consideration for others, involvement with the less fortunate, loyalty to his family and people around him is truly inspiring and with that, he has claimed a special place in my heart and is a Role Model to me.

As her name indicates, Joy is somebody that has always brought me joy and positive energy throughout the suffering of nursing school. Her kind and gentle soul never fails to give me a sense of peace and comfort. Though we've spent much time griping about the difficulties of nursing school and working in health care, we have always lifted each other up and chosen to grow through our trials together. She's moved back to her home state Arizona, but I know that no matter where we are in the world, she will always be in my heart.

Tina is someone I have known my whole life. However, our friendship did not blossom until we were brought together by our friendships with Deanna and Cherry during college. Many weekend trips were made from Irvine to Riverside and vice versa as the four of us spent as much of our free time with each other as we could, even if most of the weekend was spent indoors as we all worked on our assignments and projects. She is someone that has always encouraged my dreams no matter how they've changed throughout the years, inspired my creativity, and challenged me with her thought provoking questions. She always emphasized the importance of the pursuit of happiness, so what better than to have her with me on the happiest day of my life?

Freddy V. has been a loyal friend to me for almost 8 years now. When we first met in Colorado, he thought I was crazy and wanted to film almost everything we would do together on his GoPro. If you don't know what AFAT FILMS is, it is his video label, and a huge part of my soul and spirit that was given to me by this magical man. Fred changed my life forever, and through our adventures, he has always supported me and created masterpieces with his videos that included me in them, blessing me with feelings of appreciation and love that mean the world to me. He truly makes me feel like a RockStar, and is always there to sample my cooking when I'm in the Kitchen :) No matter how much distance comes between us, for however long of time, we will never grow apart.

Sandy is someone special that I became friends with in college as our friends called us "twins" for our similar petite statures, Korean-American identities, and aligning preferences. Our paths diverged when she moved to Colorado for law school and I moved to Hawaii for nursing school. I have not forgotten the heartache we all felt as the girls and I drove away from her after our last time hanging out before her big move. But despite the distance, we strived to be our best and always rooted for each other in our endeavors. I am honored to have her rooting for me on my wedding day and every day!

Corey and I first met each other in middle school over 15 years ago. Growing up, I always found him to be the funniest, most entertaining person in the group, always bringing life to the party with curiosity and confidence in every interaction. Life with Corey has brought me so much laughter, joy, and incredible memories of strength and athleticism together, and I am grateful that he will be standing with me on my wedding day just as he has stood by my side all these years.

Bryce is the closest thing I have ever had to a brother. I've spent more time in this life with him than anybody and am blessed to have had someone like him watching my back as we adventured into the unknown. From California to Colorado to Hawaii, Bryce has been a part of every chapter of my life, the only person I trust to drive my truck and is my favorite person to Skateboard with. I am so proud of who he is and the person he has been developing into and i have no doubt that we have many adventures together into the unknown ahead of us. Forever my P.I.C.
