Dan and Hannah met in August of 2018. They both had graduated college (Hannah from Grove City College and Dan from Penn State) and decided to join a 9-month long leadership development program called The Pittsburgh Fellows. Early on in the program, both Dan and Hannah started to notice one another. Dan told a few friends in the program that he was interested in Hannah, but that he wanted to wait until the 9 months were over before asking her out so she could focus on growing the way she needed to, and so the focus of the program could be on building the community of the 17 people in the cohort. While Dan decided to play it cool, as months went by, it became harder and harder to do that. Knowing that Hannah was training to run the Pittsburgh marathon and would run at the YMCA on Wednesdays, Dan made sure to leave work every week to conveniently be at the gym at the same time as her, and conveniently finish his workouts and need to cool down at the same time Hannah needed to do the same. More months went by, and Hannah started to notice Dan a little bit more too. Both of them were involved in the same volunteer project once a month, and would both make up reasons for needing to drive back to the Fellows houses after work before leaving for the service project...just so they could conveniently carpool together. Neither of them realized how ridiculously out of the way it was for both of them until they confessed a few months into dating! Once the program ended and a group of 6 of the Fellows friends from the program found apartments next door to one another (yes, we're the living version of F.R.I.E.N.D.S), Dan decided that it just made sense for Hannah to start dating the boy next door, and finally asked her out. Those are just a few moments of our story...it's amazing to see how God so beautifully orchestrated the whole thing. We pray and believe that He will continue to shape our story and our hearts for His glory. He is faithful!
