We grew up in WA, miles apart. Han hails from Shoreline, Cole hails from East Wenatchee. While our paths never crossed until late high school, we know that we frequented the same spots. So, we probably crossed paths as children, unbeknownst to other's existence. How beautiful. Well, like any good, suburbia saturated kid in a Christian community, we did YoungLife! God bless YoungLife. In the fated summer of 2016, Hannah Owen and Cole Loomis both participated in YoungLife Work Crew at Malibu Club Camp in British Columbia. It was during that lively month, our friendship started. At the end of the summer, the spark started to catch. A year of communication passed, Han in Spokane at Whitworth University, Cole finishing high school at The River Academy in Wenatchee. Same state, miles apart. When the next summer rolled around, the phone calls and texts turned to dates, which, in-turn, led to the start of the relationship. Keep in mind, the night this holy union began was also the very night before Cole left for college in Virginia. Yikes. Fully committed, we set out to do what looked like about three years of long distance. Different state, many miles apart. I do not know how to speak about this part of the relationship. It is quite impossible to fully relay the difficulties, the yearning, the growth, the love that bonded us together during that time. It felt so unbearable for so long that when it ended, it immediately didn't seem real. Of course, it was and is as real and hard as granite. But now that it is over, we cannot even press our minds to live through it again. Well, in mid-2020, that terrible year, something beautiful was produced. The miles apart turned to a fifteen minute drive from Standish Cir. to Harrison St. in Lynchburg, VA. A couple months, a bended knee, and a ring away, we stand on the precipice of MARRIAGE.
