Our fairytale ending

the second time's a charm

Chris and Hannah met back in the summer of 2008, in Chris' backyard at a pool party in his hometown of Sharon, MA. Chris was entering his Junior year at Xaverian Brothers High School. Hannah was relatively new to Sharon as her family had moved in late 2006 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. When Chris tells the story, he remembers it like it was yesterday, asking 'Who's that new girl?'. In a small town like Sharon, there were few new kids moving to town, particularly in high school. They started talking and he couldn't wait to get to know her better. You could say the rest is history, but it wasn't. They dated all through the rest of high school, and soon parted ways for college. Hannah went off to UMass, and Chris to St. Michael's in Vermont. The distance was tough but they made it work (for the most part), until they sadly just couldn't anymore, breaking off their 4 year relationship in the fall of 2012. Although they both dated others after that, Hannah and Chris both say they never stopped thinking about one another. Chris finished college and started his career in finance, continuing on to get his MBA at Babson College, and stayed in Boston. Hannah pursued her lifelong dream of working in the medical field, and graduated from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut with her Master's in Physician Assistant studies. There were many points during this time that both Hannah and Chris had thought about leaving Massachusetts - Chris thought about Arizona or Texas and Hannah considered Florida or New York after she had finished PA school, but they both were somehow always drawn back to Boston. Fast forward to the summer of 2021, specifically Hannah's 30th Birthday. Hannah was on a ferry to Martha's Vineyard when her friends were suddenly confused by the look on Hannah's face. They had to pick her jaw up off the floor when Hannah saw she had a happy birthday message from none other than Christopher Puliafico. Her first love, her high school sweetheart, and the one she could never quite quit. He said that 'he couldn't miss the big 30th!' and was 'hoping that they could grab a drink sometime'. Hannah couldn't miss the opportunity to take Chris up on this, so just 2 days later they had their *second* first date. When they saw each other again, after 9 long years, they instantly knew that this would likely be their very last first date, because they had truly never stopped loving one another. It was the first of many long talks over dinner, walks on the Cape and Narragansett beach, and becoming instantly inseparable. Chris says that he just knew he couldn't let Hannah get away again, and he 'had to make her his', officially. On August 11th, 2022 - Hannah's mother had planned some 'family photos' on the private beach in New Seabury that Chris knew was Hannah's favorite. To Hannah's knowledge, it was just her immediate family as it was a weekday and thought Chris couldn't make it due to a work conflict. Little did she know that once they arrived for photos, Chris was there waiting to take Hannah's hand and walk the path on the beach that was so special to them, reminding them of the rekindling of their love last summer and the countless hours they had spent on that same beach. That is the moment when Chris got down on one knee and popped the question. She knew in her heart that he was the one, then, now, and forever. She answered 'a thousand times YES!' and now, they can officially say, the rest is history.
