Chip and Hannah met at a rehearsal for The Dickens Carolers in Seattle. They spent those few special months singing together and beginning a great friendship. From the start, Chip and Hannah could tell that they were each other's "type of people" (aka: unashamedly weird with a great sense of humor). The Christmas season came and went, but those friendships were anything but "seasonal"...
It was the famed 80's party at the Flory household... Chip and Hannah had a blast earlier that week thrifting for the most RADICAL outfits. The party was "totally tubular" and Hannah had a great time meeting many of Chip's friends. The night was filled with great food, good laughs, and best of all...80's Rockband/ Karaoke! The night went on and Hannah made a comment that "There's not enough Billy Joel in this game". Chip says, "How much Billy Joel is TOO much Billy Joel". Hannah quickly retorted that there's no such thing as too much Billy Joel. With a shared love of the Piano Man, they had caught each other's attention and the night turned into an impromptu first date that even ended in a kiss..
In a year of quarantine, Chip and Hannah had learned a LOT about patience, understanding, and how to support one another. Although not many businesses were open, Chip insisted on planning a surprise date for their 3rd anniversary. (Hannah was not allowed to know anything about it!) After some beautiful afternoon strolls and dinner at a vegan burger joint, they went to find a bar to enjoy a nice beverage. However, every bar within a 4-block radius had a 45-minute wait! Chip mentioned that they were on a tight schedule, so Hannah suggested they hit up the nearest grocery and enjoy a nice beverage in the car... Quarantine had made them quite adaptable! After that, Chip brought them over to Golden Gardens Park for a sunset stroll along the beach. This park holds a special memory for the two since it was the location of one of their first and favorite dates 3 years ago.. Near the end of the beach, they stumbled upon a candlelit setup that Chip had arranged near the water. As they sat and drank in the views, they shared their favorite memories of the last 3 years and how excited they were for the world to return to "normal" again. I'm sure you know the ending - he asked, she said yes, she cried a ton.. and then they had to haul all of the candles home.. It was beautiful and private. Chip and Hannah will always be grateful for their "quarantine buddy" who is soon to be their buddy for life.
