Hannah made the bold move to walk on to the Mount Holyoke College lacrosse team her senior spring since she "needed to stay busy" while writing her thesis and her soccer career had come to an end the previous fall. Charlotte was a sophomore at the time and the two were fast friends. During the spring training trip to Florida, Charlotte confessed that she had feelings for Hannah, but declared she wouldn't act on the feelings because of the team rule against dating teammates. Hannah on the other hand, took action the very next day.
Hannah graduated in Spring 2015 and moved to Boston to work at Massachusetts General Hospital, but Charlotte still had two more years of college before she could join Hannah in Boston. Throughout the two years apart, the pair grew very familiar with the Mass Pike, early morning drives, and savoring togetherness when they could find it. In the summer of 2016, Charlotte had an internship in Boston so she moved right in to Hannah's teeny tiny room in the South End along with the three other roommates. That went pretty well, so they decided to move in together once Charlotte graduated the following spring.
Only a few weeks after graduating, Charlotte moved to Boston. Right into that same teeny tiny apartment they had lived the summer before. In September, the couple moved to their very own teeny tiny apartment on Commonwealth Ave in Back Bay and in November, Hannah started grad school at The Harvard School of Public Health. Many friends, french fries, and "Monday morning breakfast dates" later, and Hannah was finished with grad school and the couple moved into a less teeny tiny apartment in Fenway.
As you may recall, covid hit in 2020. The pair decided to "ride out the two week quarantine" in Amherst with Hannah's mom, Emily. Two weeks turned into most of the summer and they all got to know each other quite well. Charlotte learned to cut Hannah's hair with only 1-2 minor missteps, Hannah perfected the "walking meeting", and they both took up cycling as a socially distant activity.
Charlotte decided to tag along on an event that Hannah's company was putting on at the Chatham Bars Inn. She figured it would be an opportunity to work from a beautiful location and feel fancy for a couple of days, but little did she know what Hannah had planned. After the work was done on Friday, Hannah suggested a walk on the beach where she got down on one knee to ask Charlotte to marry her (cute!!).
Only two weeks later, Charlotte gave Hannah her engagement ring over croissants at Small Oven Bakery in Easthampton, MA.
marriage!!!!
We spent ten days traveling through Norway and Denmark. We feel very at home in Scandinavia and will definitely be back!
