Carson and I met my sophomore year at Oklahoma State University. At the beginning of the school year in 2018, he helped me move into my dorm room at Stout Hall. Since we both lived in Stout Hall together, we encountered each other often. Little did I know that we would later further connect through a mutual friend. Our academic struggles allowed us to connect and hang out together often. Carson later asked me on a date three times before I agreed. I am so happy with my decision because even since, we have supported each other's goals and dreams through thick and thin.
One of the most memorable occasions between us was our first date on August 16, 2021 where we stargazed under the stars. On our first date anniversary, Carson took me on a fancy dinner date at Jamil's Steakhouse in Tulsa. Since he knew I loved steak, it was the perfect excuse to dress up and eat out. We dined out and left to head home. Yet, before leaving Tulsa, Carson drove me by the Woodward Park to walk around. He had mentioned that it would be nice to see the stars again, similar to our first date. We walked out to the garden on a chilly, dark night. Under the light of a single lamppost, Carson proposed to me.
She said yes!
