The simplest way to explain how we meant it to say that it was when we were both going to Ball State University. Caleb was going into his senior year and I was going into my freshman year there. I had gotten to campus a week early to participate in a leadership camp and some of the new friends I had meant invited me to a party the Saturday night of welcome weekend. It was at one of these parties that Caleb and I bumped into each other and were introduced by a mutual friend. We talked for awhile and went our separate ways. The next day we found each other on social media and started talking. When Monday came around we were having lunch between classes and things just continued from there. Labor Day weekend rolled around and we both went home to visit. I wasn't so sure about Caleb yet and enjoyed the space and time to think. We got back to campus and things fell into place. We started to see each other everyday. My friends became his and his became mine. About three months into this Caleb told me he loved me and I in typical Hannah fashion pushed him away. I told him no. He was not going to say that to me. We had not been together long enough and that he had never even asked me to be his girlfriend so no he did not love me. I was not looking for a real relationship and got a little freaked. Caleb persisted and continued to insist that he really did love me. With his persistence and the advice of my friends and family we were on the same page by Christmas. The following summer we were engaged. It was decided at this time that we were going to slow things down and wait the three years for me to finish school before we got married and here we are nearly four years after that college party getting ready to say I do.
